Bobbleheads also known as  headknockers, nodders, bobbing head dolls, or wobblers, are collectible dolls which have their oversized heads connected to a body by a spring in such a way that once tapped it starts to bobble. Due to this specific feature it is known as a "bobblehead" as opposed to a figure. Bobble head dolls were first believed to be referenced in 1842 in the short story "The Overcoat" by writer Nikolai Gogol. The story is also known as "The Cloak" and has been adapted to film and stage.In present times, bobbleheads represent a wide variety of subjects, including athletes, team mascots, movie stars, musicians, politicians, celebrities, popular icons, and characters from commercials and advertisements. Read more...
